Game Theory - Hannah Fry
Only an idiot would choose to play chicken. No sane person, surely, has ever chosen to drive directly towards their opponent at speed, knowing that choosing to swerve away from an inevitable collision will result in a loss.
And yet, the game of chicken does have a winning strategy. Any mathematician will tell you - the best way to force your rival to blink is to unscrew your own steering wheel, wind down your window and visibly throw it into the road.
Welcome to the world of game theory; the mathematics of winning. In this interactive talk, I want to give you a flavour of what game theory has to offer for legal professionals. How strategic decision-making can be used to navigate negotiations & litigation, and the surprising and counter intuitive strategies it sometimes suggests. To be a good negotiator, do you have to anticipate your opponents next move? And – perhaps more importantly - is there always a way to get what you want?

Forward-Looking Tech and Tech Trends — Matt Watts
I’m an ambivert and an engineer, it’s taken a lot of different experiences in order for me to realise that this is the most appropriate description for who I am though. I’ve always had a lot to say, I think being an engineer means I’m constantly looking for solutions to problems or analysing things to see how they could be done better, or sometimes just wondering why someone made a particular decision on how to build something. Then I want to chat about it. As Chief Technology Evangelist (CTE), I provide guidance on NetApp’s strategy & technology to a diverse range of companies and our Partner Community. My role as the CTE is not so much talking about how technology works but rather to get people interested enough so that they want to know how technology works.

Mountains of the Mind - Bonita Norris
What does it take to go beyond your limits? To have an impossible dream and turn it into a reality?
For beginner mountaineer Bonita Norris, it was to reach the summit of Everest, but as she came to learn- the most difficult challenge wasn’t Everest itself.
This talk explores how we can conquer the biggest mountain of all: the mountain of the mind.
